Superb Lyrebird dances and sings in the Yarra Ranges

We spent about 5 hours with this male of many talents. That wispy tale and a voice is to die for! He was very very tricky to film. We were lucky to get him in the least thick scrub. He put on a show and we watched!

A Goldenrod Crab Spider (Misumena vatia) catching a hover fly (Ischiodon sp.). As the climax in this video was part of my short film "The Flower Thief" I have taken the liberty of adding appropriate sound effects.

Willy Wag Tail Nesting at the Melbourne Botanical Gardens. This was filmed at a 400mm focal length. Never get too close to a nesting bird as it could upset them.
